I have shared the same confusion since reading the many articles about the 2007 study that says there is no association between eating nuts and seeds and diverticulosis or diverticulitis. However after reading the actual document there was a section at the end called "study limitations" that said they were unable to confirm the findings for people who were known to already have diverticulosis. Maybe that's why my doctor told me to still avoid nuts and seeds.

I am a 60 year old female with controlled hypertension and otherwise good health. I was recently diagnosed with slight diverticulosis after a colonoscopy. After reading internet info I am confused about eating popcorn and nuts. Some say that if properly chewed these are both fine to consume and female in good health.
Thank you for the clarification,
